Before being called to the Bar, Iram practiced as an attorney and later held the roles of internal legal advisor and corporate executive.
She began her career as an attorney in the Dispute Resolution Department at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr Inc., after having served her articles there. Her practice areas were predominantly general commercial and banking litigation. Iram joined Nedbank as a Senior Legal Advisor in 2016 and was appointed as Nedbank’s Executive Head of Reputational Risk and Ethics in 2019.
Iram pursued her LLM (Banking and Commercial Law) in 2022 at the University of the Witwatersrand. She holds a BA (Law, and Clinical Psychology) (cum laude) and LLB (cum laude) from the University of the Witwaterstand.
Iram’s areas of interest include general commercial litigation, banking, regulatory, corporate governance, investigations, and administrative law.
