Shem's preferred areas of practice include contract, company, banking, auditor’s liability, and insolvency and liquidation law. He appears primarily in the High Courts, the Supreme Court of Appeals and in arbitrations – in which he has considerable experience. In addition to his practice, he has been an acting judge in the High Courts, a commissioner in the Small Claims Court and an arbitrator in private arbitrations.
